A woman has been arrested following a fatal flat fire in East Sussex
A 60-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder following a flat fire in which a man died, police said.
Emergency teams were called to Charmaine Court in St Margarets Road, St Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex, at 11.30pm on Wednesday.
A 57-year-old man who lived at the flat was pronounced dead at the scene, Sussex Police said.
The 60-year-old woman was taken to the Conquest Hospital from the flat suffering from smoke inhalation.
After being discharged, she was arrested on suspicion of murder, a police spokesman said.
The cause of the blaze is being investigated by the Surrey and Sussex major crime team and East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service.
The flat was being examined by forensic investigators and a post-mortem examination on the dead man will take place later.
