Sean Mercer stabbed Jake Fahri at Moorlands Young Offenders' Institute
The teenager who shot dead schoolboy Rhys Jones has stabbed the killer of former altar boy Jimmy Mizen during a prison brawl.
Sean Mercer, 18, attacked Jake Fahri, 19, with a pair of tweezers which had been sharpened and bound with tape to create a makeshift knife, sources said.
The incident, which happened in the exercise yard at Moorlands Young Offenders' Institute in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, on Monday also involved a third youth who held Fahri down during the attack.
Fahri, serving 14 years for slashing the throat of 16-year-old Jimmy following an argument in a London baker's shop in May last year, was later taken to hospital and treated for stab wounds.
Mercer, serving 22 years for shooting dead 11-year-old Rhys during a gang war in Liverpool, has been moved to an isolation wing.
A Prison Service spokesman said: "On Monday a fight broke out between three prisoners at HMP and YOI Moorland.
"Staff acted quickly to control the situation and one prisoner was taken to an outside hospital for treatment.
"Police have been notified of this incident and are investigating."
A spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Police said inquiries were continuing.

It's scum like this that are ripping the heart out of this once great nation. The authorities should put them down like the rabid dogs they are, throw them into a pit, fill it in and forget about them. May they contract every vile disease, cancer, AIDS etc. and die a slow painful, agonising death and rot in hell for eternity.
