Detectives are investigating a possible link between a fight outside a pub and the later death of a man whose body was found in a nearby house.
The death of the 49-year-old man found at a house in Paignton, Devon, on Saturday morning is currently being treated as unexplained, Devon and Cornwall Police said.
But the force wants to speak to people who witnessed a "fracas" outside the Globe Inn, near the house on Winner Street, at around midnight.
Detective Sergeant Chris Tapley, of Torbay CID, said: "We are investigating a potential link between the two incidents and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed or who was present at the scene of a disturbance outside The Globe Inn at about midnight last night."
Police and paramedics arrived at the house at around 8.20am on Saturday but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The street was cordoned off for much of the day before reopening on Saturday evening, police said.
