When David Beckham came on to the pitch 57 minutes into England's World Cup qualifying match against Belarus, he brought more than a touch of playmaking to proceedings. He also came bearing a huge bristling beard.Beckham's conception of face furniture suggested he had been leafing through a few footie history books. The beautiful game has long played host to a spectacular, if not preposterous, parade of chin forestry. Becks' own attempt, somewhat resembling that of former US president Abraham Lincoln, is a fine preliminary effort.
