A man has died three weeks after he was involved in a roadside altercation with a white van man.
The 54-year-old was driving a black Ford Mondeo westbound on the A8, near Langbank in Renfrewshire, on Saturday July 7 when he became involved in an altercation with the driver of a white Ford Transit van.
Both vehicles stopped on the A8 when the Mondeo driver got out of his car to speak with the driver of the Ford Transit.
The Mondeo driver was taken to hospital to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley where he was treated for minor injuries and released later that day.
He was then readmitted to hospital on Thursday July 26 and then died on Saturday, three weeks to the day since the altercation.
Road Policing Officers at Greenock are looking for witnesses to the altercation to establish whether it may be connected to the man's death.
A post-mortem examination will be carried out to try to establish the cause of death and find out if the man had any underlying health problems.
The white van man is helping police with their enquiries.
