Air strikes leave hundreds homeless as Middle East conflict continues

Israel is continuing to launch air strikes into the neighbourhing Palestinian territory of Gaza, targeting the headquarters of Hamas leaders and other key facilities. At least 38 Palestinians and three Israelis have died since the escalation of hostilities on Wednesday, which began when Israel killled Hamas's military chief. In response, militants in Gaza have fired rockets into Israel, hitting cities such as Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. This picture shows a wounded Palestinian child being carried into a hospital in Gaza.
