Gavin Henson sacked by Cardiff Blues

N/A

Welsh rugby international Gavin Henson has been sacked by his team the Cardiff Blues for alleged drunken behaviour on a flight from Glasgow to Cardiff.

Henson's apology on Sunday wasn't enough to save his position. A Cardiff Blues statement read: 'Following a management meeting on Monday morning Cardiff Blues can confirm that Gavin Henson has been dismissed with immediate effect'.

The general reaction on Twitter to the news seems somewhat unsympathetic to say the least.

Adam Clark (@harlowmex) tweeted: 'Massive shame about Gavin Henson wasting a fantastic talent but I have absolutely no sympathy for the bloke'

Martin Bouchier (@martin_bouchier) adds simply 'Will Gavin Henson never learn?'

Rebecca Picton-James (@BeccPJ) sticks up for the player though, asking: 'Feel really bad for Gavin Henson! Everybody gets drunk and just because he's a rugby player it's a big deal?

Do you think Henson deserves his punishment?
