An Audi TT driver, thought to be in his 20s embedded his car half-way up a house in Lowestoft, Suffolk just before 2am on Sunday morning.

The vehicle mounted the pavement, burst through a hedge, lifted off a parked car and landed in the front room.

Bump in the night

Paul Welham, 40, who lives in the house is thought to have been in bed at the time.

Rescued

The driver was cut free from the car by the emergency services. He suffered serious head injuries and is being treated in hospital
